Disruptive Media Learning Lab (DMLL), Coventry University
2015 – Present

I started working in the Lab as a Student Media Production Assistant before graduating with my degree and now reside as an Innovation & Community Development Officer. Over the years, my role has incorporated a number of skills relevant to learning technology and film production where I’ve actively designed and created media content for the Higher Education sector. I am the first point of contact for all media content within the DMLL, and I also have experience in mentoring and supervising Media Production and Photography students on work placement.

Peace Academy
Feb 2014 – June 2014

During this work experience, I was a Volunteer Video Editor, Teaching Assistant and Coordinator. For this programme, I was working in a small team and my tasks were to log and edit old film footage into a documentary format for presenting in our workshops. Within these workshops, I worked both independently and on other occasions with my colleagues for our presentations covering Social Media Activism. I also worked as a teaching assistant. My responsibilities in this role were to help people of various backgrounds, briefs and abilities through group activities inside and outside the classroom.

I am Dyslexic Documentary:
I worked on this award-winning crowd-funded independent documentary as I was graduating from Coventry University and starting full-time employment. This film was made to help primary and secondary school children to embrace their diagnosis of dyslexia through education and comedy. On this project, I acted as an Assistant Director, Camera and Sound Operator for 2 years with the director.
It was awarded Best Film at the Leamington Film Festival 2020 and screened in Royal Leamington Spa on
 15th February 2020.

Coventry Life Festival:
In October 2017, I worked closely with another freelance photographer and organisers from Coventry City Council to produce 2 videos about Coventry Life Festival’s event. As part of Coventry becoming an Age-Friendly City, the city hosted a 2-day event at Fargo Village to welcome the first festival of its kind to the city, which was supported by The European Commission EIT Health programme. For the event, I was hired to capture the first day of the event where every family in Coventry was invited to learn about the art of growing old.

One Cov 2017:
One Cov 2017 was an event hosted at Coventry Transport Museum that invited diverse communities from across the city to come together to discuss issues and ideas that are important to everyone that I’d helped to capture interviews and activities that took place in the day. This event was held in October 2017.

TEDxCoventry 2018:
I acted as a sponsor and volunteer for the TEDx event, which took place in Coventry, in June 2018. My role within this project was as one of the Lead Videographers, I had to coordinate the pre-production, production and post-production stages for the event’s online videos that were published on the TEDx YouTube channel. I also worked on marketing campaign videos in the lead-up to the event.
